ArtWorks Fine Art Studio has provided drawing and painting instruction for kids, teens and adults since 2003. Our art classes combine strong fine art fundamentals with individualized instruction in a welcoming, creative studio environment.

At ArtWorks, we believe every student can learn the principles of art and design. Our structured curriculum begins with foundational drawing and pastel techniques, then builds progressively as students develop their skills, creativity and confidence. Each student works at their own level with individualized guidance from our instructors.

Founded in September 2003 by Bethesda native Erin Johnson, Artworks was born out of a realization of the need for fine art education in the local community. Erin, with a BS in Visual Art and Art Semiotics from Brown University, brings a wealth of artistic experience, having studied at renowned institutions like RISD, the Lorenzo de Medici School in Florence, Italy, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Erin’s background also includes teaching at Walt Whitman H.S. and a private art school in Los Angeles, CA, where she dedicated herself to both instructing and pursuing her painting.

Artworks is actively involved in the DMV community, annually contributing art classes to school auctions and showcasing the work of our students across all of our locations. Join us on this artistic journey, where creativity, skill, and self-expression flourish at Artworks Fine Art Studio.
