Our passion is rooted in imparting the fundamentals of fine art to individuals of all ages, with a specific focus on drawing and painting, within an environment that fosters creativity and effective instruction.

At Artworks, we firmly believe in the ability of every individual to learn the principles of art and design. Our programs are designed around a unique curriculum, empowering budding artists to create stunning works of art while nurturing the development of self-esteem. The journey begins with mastering basic drawing and pastel techniques, establishing a foundation for more advanced artistic skills.

Founded in September 2003 by Bethesda native Erin Johnson, Artworks was born out of a realization of the need for fine art education in the local community. Erin, with a BS in Visual Art and Art Semiotics from Brown University, brings a wealth of artistic experience, having studied at renowned institutions like RISD, the Lorenzo de Medici School in Florence, Italy, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Erin’s background also includes teaching at Walt Whitman H.S. and a private art school in Los Angeles, CA, where she dedicated herself to both instructing and pursuing her own painting.

Artworks is actively involved in the DMV community, annually contributing classes to school auctions and showcasing the work of our students across all of our locations. Join us on this artistic journey, where creativity, skill, and self-expression flourish at Artworks Fine Art Studio.
